Stay Among the Vines – Alkoomi Chalets, Frankland River

Alkoomi is a third-generation, family-owned winery where the vines stretch to the horizon and time seems to slow. Just 500 metres from the cellar door, the Jarrah and Wandoo Chalets offer some of the only accommodation in the tranquil Frankland River Wine Region. Surrounded by rolling hills, native bush, and vineyards first planted in 1971, these cosy, self-contained chalets each sleep up to seven guests with two bedrooms, a spacious living area, and sweeping farm views—perfect for a quiet weekend, a creative retreat, or a base to explore the region. Stroll over to the Alkoomi cellar door for a tasting, often served personally by owners Sandy and Rod, or unwind on the veranda with a glass of Shiraz as the sun sets over the vines. The chalets are just over an hour from Walpole, 50 minutes from Mount Barker, Kojonup, or Manjimup, and sit along the scenic route between Albany, Bunbury, and Margaret River. Nearby bushwalks, a serene lake, and local cafés complete the experience. Alkoomi is a peaceful escape, perfect for reconnecting with nature and the vine.
